Second draft completed…. bring on the film festival!

Since getting the $25,000 in development funds over two months ago from Telefilm Canada, we have had Ron Oliver working very hard on the rewrite of the Wicked Wheels script. The first revision I read in July was fantastic. After Steve Levitan from Protocol Entertainment and Marina Cordoni from Breakthrough Films provided some notes, Ron tweaked the script further. Now it’s even more fantastic!

We just sent this second draft of Wicked Wheels back to Telefilm in the hopes they will love it even more now, as we do, and consider joining us further on this venture as we move into the packaging stage this fall, seeking the all important actor that will start to open more doors for this movie.

I’m off to a much needed vacation from work and digital technology into the backcountry of Algonquin Park on Sunday with some old friends, by canoe of course, and will return to the “not so glamorous life” of producing my first film in September where I’ll be at the Toronto International Film Festival doing a lot of shameless promotion with movie executives.

I’ll blog about the film festival as I’m sure it will be an experience for sure.

Green Light on Script Development from Telefilm Canada

Well it was hell waiting but we finally got word from Telefilm today that they are in and advancing us funds to develop the feature film script “Wicked Wheels” for a theatrical release.

Remember the hurry up and wait post?  Yeah… well I’m done waiting and back on the phones with writer’s guilds, agents, emailing, faxing like a mad man as we move into the next phase.

I’ve always been a fan of the roller coaster.

Hottest BMX rider in the world Drew Bezanson is in!

I am very excited to announce that Drew Bezanson has agreed to act as a BMX consultant to our feature film, Wicked Wheels.  If you don’t know Drew, he is the hottest thing in BMX right now from Nova Scotia.  Drew will be working with the screenwriter during the script rewrite and will also be on the film set during the BMX stunt days.  If you know anything about BMX, he needs no introduction.  If you don’t know anything about BMX… here are a couple WICKED videos for you!

Skullcandy put this cut together, a bio on Drew...

Vital BMX has Drew do the Power Hour…

Here is Drew with Rick Mercer on his show. Mike Heaton is also in this video who is also consulting on our movie…

…wow.  Can’t wait to work with this guy.
